OCFA Family Picnic

On Sunday we went to the Orange County Fire Association's(Seth's Fire Department) Family Picnic! They do it annually, but this was the first one we attended! They go all out with the food, games and stuff for the kiddos! It was fun to meet people that Seth works with, they are really one big family since they live together 10+ days out of the month! It was nice to put names to faces and meet their families too! It was great weather for it too! Hot in the sun, but PERFECT in the shade! Here are some pics...

Crappy things...

#1 Crappy Thing - Our camera is broken! :( So sad! I am lost without it and I've given Seth a deadline to get us another one cause I cannot be without a camera for long, do not want to miss anything of Mitch and he is growing too fast! Hence, the pics from my phone(luckily it is at least 3.0 megapixel)!

#2 Crappy Thing - Mitch has an ear infection! So sad! I thought he was teething, nope! He had a cold last week that turned into an ear infection! I took him to the dr yesterday, I almost didn't because he was being so good! But he had no appetite, so I knew something was wrong. I was shocked he had an ear infection, he hadn't been crying or pulling on his ear at all! He has a high pain tolerence I guess. We got anti-biotics for him, which he does not care for! Poor little guy!

#3 Crappy Thing - Our Baby. See for yourself...He likes to eat and he likes to crap! In that order. This is what the anti-biotics are doing to him, it did warn so I wasn't too surprised. Be glad this pic is only 3.0 megapixel!

Although these are all pretty crappy things, life is still good! I am thankful for our blessings and glad it isn't worse! :)

Crazy Fun Date Night!

Seth and I were able to go out on a fun date night with our friends to Mulligan's(a local family fun center) and we had so much fun!!! I always have really fun girls nights, but it is rare to get a group date night going and Seth be off so it was great that it worked out this time for us!!! We took advantage of their deal to pick 3 activities for $9 a person for a group of ten, we picked Laser Tag, Go Carts and Mini Golf! Adults playing Laser Tag is the BEST, so freakin funny!! I love how into it everybody got! Here are some fun pics from that...

Seth creeping out the kids while we were waiting our turn to play! ;) What you can't see in this pic is that the kid on the far left had a MASSIVE case of PINK EYE!! So gross! Luckily we played before them!

6 months old!

Has it really been half a year already?! That went by way too fast!! Our little infant is now a BIG BABY and I don't know how it happened so fast!!! He has grown like crazy this last month! Since we started feeding him baby food he has put on about 3-4 lbs! We just got back from his 6 month checkup and he is 20 lbs, 4 oz and 27.5 inches long - we were right on with the measurements! And for his weight, height and head circumference he is in the 90th-95th percentile! In other words... a pretty big boy, but healthy and on track! YAY! He is on the verge of crawling, he scoots around pretty fast already though! He can now sit on his own for a few minutes, but we still stay close by! He LOVES LOVES LOVES his food, did I mention he loves his food? Cause he does!!! He watches us intently when we eat and expects to be fed too, pretty much demands it actually! He is just a joy to be around(most of the time) and gives anyone and everyone his chubby open mouthed grin! He is "very social" per his doctor and "crazy pterodactyl" per us! He does this high pitched super shreak when he is happy and yells and cries like something is hurting him when he isn't getting his way(little faker), is tired or is bored. He definitely has his way of communicating with us and luckily we know how to understand him pretty well! His Daddy loves how interactive and sturdy he is now and I can usually find them rolling around on the floor playing together, warms my heart! I'm so glad Seth is able to be home with us so much and have an active role in raising him! He is a very lucky little boy and already adores his Daddy so much and vice versa! I am so thankful for every day I have with our little man, being his mother is so awesome! Here are pics of our handsome boy...

1st time in the swing, he LOVED it!

He also loves grass!

And the fan!

AND Daddy!!

We loves how his little chubby hand is pointing in this pic! :)

So serious!

Who does Mitch look like? People always ask us, we think he is an even mix of us!Check it out... This is Daddy

This is Mitch, sorry for the low quality. Our camera is dying, so sad!

Yay Hypoglycemia!

Hi my name is Heather and I am a Hypoglycemic. As a child my mom sent extra snacks(a box of O's cereal - YUM!) to school with me so that my teacher could give me if I needed. Needing usually happens when I have waited to long to eat and I cannot focus on ANYTHING and start getting shaky and light headed and I'm just gonna say it... BITCHY! My poor husband knows this all too well and even with a hypoglycemic rage he experienced the night he planned to propose, he still proposed to me! He has said many times that he needs to make a box with snacks inside it and a glass cover that says "break in case of emergency" for the car. Cause most of my hypoglycemic rages are taken out on him in the car... he loves me. Well Seth and found this pamphlet at the hospital and I had to share cause we thought it was pretty funny...

Seth says I definitely do the first 2... Being Uncooperative and Disorientation, we added the last 2! LOL! Luckily I haven't experienced the middle 2 and hope I never do!

Anyways as we watch Mitch grow older we are convinced that he must have inherited this from his dear mother. So sad to see him wig out and his little arms shaking! Luckily for him food is always close at hand, his Mommy understands!

Happy 7 years!!

Today is my 7th Wedding Anniversary!! It is going by so fast!! Seth and I actually met 11 Labor Days ago too! We love Labor Day to say the least, that is when my life truly started! I love my husband so much and all he does to provide for our family! He would make any woman happy, but I'm glad he chose to make me happy! ;) We still make each other laugh so hard, I love that about our relationship!! Even when times are tough we find something to smile about! He TOTALLY gets me and understands my quircks, he even anticipates them now and helps to makes things easier for me! I just LOVE the way he loves me every day, every minute, every second! This year we are pretty tapped out, so we are taking it easy in the celebration department but I made a cake to somewhat resemble our yummy wedding cake...

Us eating our wedding cake on our wedding day!

here it is, don't look too closely! :)

the inside is vanilla cake with strawberry creme filling...YUM!
Happy Anniversary my love!

Our Chunky Monkey!

I was trying to wait on this till his 6 month post, but I just couldn't!! Mitch has totally beefed up these last few weeks and is now pushing 20 lbs! I tried to measure his length and it looks like he is at least 27 inches too! Although I am sad he has grown so much so quickly, I cannot help but smile about his humongo thighs!! They are ADORABLE!!! He LOVES LOVES LOVES his baby food!! He hasn't had one that he doesn't like yet! He has done rice cereal, oatmeal cereal, peas, green beans, carrots, squash, sweet potatos, apple sauce, bananas, mango and pears so far and has done well(meaning he grunts, cries and squeels like crazy if we don't spoon into his mouth fast enough!) with all of them! I have a feeling that he will never turn away anything! He loves food!
We started feeding him at dinnertime and then slowly added breakfast and then lunch, so he now eats 3-4oz of baby food 3 times a day!!! And there is no holding him off, he knows when it is time to eat and throws a stink if it doesn't happen fast enough! If he can see me getting it ready and he thinks he is starving, he totally flips out! We have incorporated a sippy cup (with water)to have with the baby food, since he has had a huge aversion to bottles.. so annoying! But at least we won't have to break him of a bottle habit later! And on top of all this I still nurse him 5-6 times a day and 1-2 times at night!! Yep, the food hasn't helped all that much with him sleeping thru the night.. unfortunately. The only not so great thing about him eating baby food is the aftermath in his diaper... YUCK! At least since it is more solid now, it actually stays in the diapers! He messes his diaper 3 times a day now! I really miss the 1 BM every other day! Oh well. We are glad to have a happy boy who enjoys fruit AND veggies and it is also pretty entertaining! Here is some video of what I've been describing, don't worry no shots of the dirty diapers! ;)

This next one is sad cause he is crying at first, we couldn't get the food to his mouth fast enough! He doesn't like to wait for nothing!!

Our trip to Beauitful Washington!

Mitch and I just got back from our trip to BEAUTIFUL Washington! We had a great time and the the weather was perfect! I would move there in a heartbeat! We stayed with my dear friend Natalie and her growing family, she and her hubby have 4 kids and one on the way! Mitch was constantly entertained! In the car it was really cute when he would cry all four kids would start singing "Don't cry" over and over and he would stop! I wish I would have gotten video of that! It was so sweet! Here are the highlights of our trip...

*Seeing and playing with the Cook family, Shelley says hello and she has the place ready for visitors! ;)
*Seeing and catching up with my friend Jessica
*2 wonderful parks with the coolest play stuff and splash pads! WA knows what makes a great park!
*Taking a ferry ride
*Picking blackberries, twice!! They are YUMMY, the thorns are mean though!

*Downtown Seattle Day with Natalie - SO FUN!! It included the Space Needle, Pike Place, Yummy Chili Bread Bowls, Tasty Nuts, Beautiful Flowers, a come on from a vendor, Bus rides, a long walk to a not so fun China Town(we made it fun though!:), our ride on the Monorail, laughing, shopping and taking some fun and crazy pics! Thanks Joey for giving up your wife for the day, I really appreciate it!
*Gabbing with Natalie non stop!
*Laughing at the kids antics! Lily would constantly tell me to stop laughing at her, but she obviously does not know how funny she is!
*Telling Jayci my name after she would ask me "What yo name?" over and over! Jayci, "I like it, yo face!"
*Cuddling with Mitch on the plane rides, he did so good!
*Coming home to Daddy! We missed him so much!

Here is a slideshow of our trip...
