Birthdays and Pink Eye..

So that sounds like a good combo huh?... NOT!!! I was so bummed! Last month I had planned a big ladies night for my friends Vanessa and Meagan birthdays(their birthdays are on the same day) to go to dinner, movie and then craft night back at our friend Sarah's home. So when Mitch got up from his nap and his eyes were icky I was unsure on what to do.. I've had pink eye and mine were really pink and his weren't so I wasn't sure. So I continued on my way to my sisters and made sure to have her take a look to be safe. She confirmed that it was indeed pink eye.. :( So I couldn't leave him there, way too contagious! AND because I was the planner of the night I was planning on arriving first to the restaurant to get the reservation accounted for and was already halfway there so I kept going knowing full well that I would probably have to turn right around to leave! Double :(!!! So I got there super sweaty from walking from the parking structure with no stroller and Mitch, presents, diaper bag and purse in tow! Once my friends started arriving they were so nice to make me feel better about staying with Mitch, I would have totally understood if someone was not ok with it(especially cause they had all gotten babysitters for their kiddos too!).. but it was really nice of them to be so great about it! Thanks ladies! So I still had a great dinner, after going back to the car to get Mitch's dvd player which made me sweat more.. GROSS! After dinner I went home and the everyone went and saw Killers and then I met them back up for crafty time later! Could have been a lot worse, I'm blessed to have some understanding friends! And I'm sure this won't be the last infectious thing my kid has, so it was a good learning experience for me! Motherhood definitely comes with good and bad, but mostly good! ;) Here are some pics from dinner, sorry it took me so long to post em ladies!

Meagan is being super brave here, getting so close to Pink Eye boy!

BY THE WAY, it was pink eye I got him drops the next day, poor guy! BUT I wanted to share some info I learned about it.. Pink Eye is also called Conjuctivitis and some people also say Eye Cold.. THEY ARE ALL THE SAME AND VERY CONTAGIOUS! I used to just run from the term Pink Eye, but now I know the other things are the same thing and will run just as fast from those too! LOL! To take care of: Wash your hands like crazy! AND after your child has been on the eye drops for 24 hours(I actually waited 48) they are no longer contagious.. so sanitize EVERYTHING they would have touched or had contact with! Wash them, the things they sleep with in hot water! Spray and wipe down with sanitizing wipes all toys and surfaces to rid your home AND car of the germs or you will be are an endless cycle of nastiness! Info I got from medical professionals and friends, really good to know! Let me tell you... GOOD TIMES!

Christmas in July for ME!!!!

So I took part in an international gift exchange via a blog that I stalk regularly.. AND IT WAS SO FUN! I would love to do this once a month, so awesome! It was so exciting to get to know these 2 ladies, the one I gave to and the one who gave to me! I recieved from a wonderful lady named Kady from Ontario, Canada! She made me a some book jewelry(really fancy bookmark) that I've been putting to good use! An apple cozy that is super awesome, not sure how she knew I've been eating TONS of apples lately, but another thing I will LOVE! She also made me a pot holder and magnets, how sweet is this! Seriously when her package came it felt like Christmas morning! Thanks Kady so much, I love it all! This is her blog where she hosts a ton of giveaways.. Take A Mom's Word For It check it out!! So I had the pleasure of giving to Sara who lives in Sicily, Italy!! How amazing is THAT?!! She lives on a farm with her man and they grow their own olive trees (and other wonderful things) and make and sell their own olive oil!! SO FREAKIN COOL! This is the website for their business.. Plant 1 Olive Tree and this is her personal blog... The Crafty Ungoddess where she posted about the gift I sent her! So sweet! I'm so glad she liked it, makes me so happy! This was so fun and it was so neat to get to know these 2 ladies from so far away and I have so added them to my blog stalking list! ;) Feel free to stalk them with me! Thanks to Linda at Craftaholics Anonymous for organizing such a fun exchange!!

Mitch is 16 months

Mitch gets bigger and more active every day and although he can be pretty beastly at times(especially when he isn't getting his way) we love how fun this stage with him is! He is so curious about his body now, which is cute most of time.. not cute when he is trying to grab himself downstairs while his diaper is being changed and gets his hand in poop! YUCK! It is super cute when we ask him where his belly button is tho and he lifts up his shirt to show us! LOVE it! He is a walking fool, but still does the frankenstein straight legged arms up in the air thing! So funny! He is doing much better at catching himself when he falls now, when he does we say "uh oh!" and he thinks its funny. He loves playing with the trash cans now, throwing toys and other stuff in there and pulling nasty stuff out.. which we don't love! We've gotten to the point that they are up on the counter until we figure something else out! He mimics things we do a lot now, for example when we give him a water bottle, empty or not he will go put it in the recycling bag we keep on our pantry door! So cute!! He loves to watch movies in the car and not just Toy Story, he is into other ones now too! We took him to watch Toy Story 3 in the theatre and it was awesome, he LOVED it and did so good! He had his first case of pink eye this last month, which really sucked! Eye drops in a baby's eye 4 times a day for 7 days = NO FUN!! He was a trooper, but I recieved a few swift kicks to the chest during drop times! He is strong!! He is back into throwing some pretty good tantrums, which I had hoped we had left behind. No luck there tho and he likes to do them in public, which is extra awesome! At home I ignore him and walk away if I can, but in public how do you do that?! I've been managing not to beat him, but it is hard!! ;) He is a very sweet and serious most of the time with random bouts of rage and fits of laughter, my parents are happy to see me getting payback from my tantrums as a child! He officially now likes quesadilla, chicken strips and apples which gives a little more variety to some meals luckily. He is my life and although he challenges me a lot(especially at church), I'm so thankful for him and his sweet spirit! Here is all the pics and video from this last month...
The many faces of Mitch, Daddy was blowing bubbles at him here!

At California Adventure with his friend Jalen waiting for the Pixar Parade, these two were little cohorts in making Janitsy and I look like the worst mothers ever!! We still had fun tho, just really exhausted afterwards! ;)

He wants and tries to do everything his buddy Jalen does!

How he probably got pink eye! Just finishing up a tantrum at Disneyland!

All ready for watching Toy Story 3 with Mommy and Daddy at the theatre! We brought his high chair seat and it made it work so good!

Mitch and Pink Eye.. :( Doesn't that just make your eyes hurt? So sad!

He is getting more brave at the pool, we count to 3 and he jumps/leans in! ;)

Just loves pool time with Daddy!

Happy 4th of July buddy! He is trapped in there cause I couldn't get anything done!

These two are so funny together and SUPER CUTE!!

Sharing some of his favorite snack - Cheetos, he doesn't get very often! Madi would suck off the cheese and then give it back to him to eat! Hilarious!! Quite the little couple, we cannot keep them away from each others sippy cups!

Pretty annoyed that we trapped him in his chair!

Love this pic, Brooke isn't enjoying the bounce house too much and Mitch doesn't get it! ;)

At Madisyn's Birthday party, he loves these 2 girls!

Having fun at a water playdate today at Traci's, he was LOVING it!

And the videos.. Having fun at the pool..

And jumping in the Bounce House at Madisyn's Birthday Party..

Little T is here!

My newest nephew was born while we were in Vegas almost a month ago! His older brother was born when I was in Vegas 6 years ago too! Funny huh? Sounds like I'm in Vegas a lot, but I'm really not! Anyways he came into this world very dramatically and we are so happy that him and his mom are safe and healthy cause we are truly blessed to have them with us still! My sister Amber was attempting another V-back, she did one successfully with her 2nd boy Tater after having a c-section with her first boy Tmac. (BTW these aren't their real names, just their nicknames so their real names aren't out in the cyber world) She luckily she didn't get an epidural for labor cause the doctors don't recommend when attempting a v-back. And because she didn't, she was able to feel that something was really wrong and know that it wasn't how she felt with the first v-back. The placenta had detached and she was having hyper-contractions back to back which caused her uterus to rupture and bleed internally! :( No one knew what was happening until a surgeon came in(she was there for a scheduled c-section and heard Amber screaming) and figured out that something was really wrong and immediately took her for an emergency c-section!! So thankful for that Dr and for her knowledge and quick decision making! Little T was born healthy and QUICK and mom had pretty major surgery for a few hours after that. They luckily were able to save her and her uterus, but she had to have a few blood transfusions from the loss of blood. My mom had told me she had an emergency c-section, but we all didn't know how bad it really was till later. She has bounced back amazingly since and was home within a week! What a TROOPER!!! By the way this had nothing to do with attempting to do a v-back, where she ruptered wasn't even near the c-section scar the dr said. It was a fluke thing and she is so lucky that she had the experiences she had before or she might not have known anything was wrong! They are both happy, healthy and BLESSED! He is a CUTIE of course! Only thing our family produces! I hope you don't mind me sharing all this Amber and you know I have to share the photo too cause it is too awesome! Let me know if you want me to delete anything! Ok so the photo... CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS??!! This was on a "Congratulations" card from Kaiser that they got in the mail about a week later!! She was just out of surgery and as you can tell she is OUT OF IT! When she showed me this I laughed so hard that I cried! I just love how the baby looks like he is smiling and Tracy is on board and smiling(which never really happens in other pics) and then there is Amber.... Amber? LOL! I just can't believe they would even attach that to a card! HILARIOUS! So here are more pics from when we first met "Little T", just 2 days after his birth!

Amber and her 3 boys! Doesn't she look awesome for what she went thru? So crazy! Just happy to be alive!
