My next project...

I just got the stuff for my next project! Bedding for the baby! I've been inspired by some girlfriends in my ward who made them themselves, they came out super cute! I'm going to give it a try since I haven't seen any bedding sets that have been perfect for what we want the baby room to be. We've decided to go Little Fireman style with a Brown, Red and Blue color palette! It should hopefully turn out super cute for our little guy! We won't be doing anything to the room till after Christmas cause that would be a little crazy, but I am going to get started on the bedding! I have a feeling it will probably take me awhile! I'm only going to be doing the blanket and bumper for the crib and have a standard red sheet and crib skirt to accent it. Then if I'm still feeling creative after that maybe a couple pillows and window coverings! So here is some pics of my plans, I've learned that that is the best way to go! :) I already think I might not have enough fabric, I need to cut out all the pieces to make sure and then go back to get whatever I need more of before I can't find it again!! Gotta love Joann's! :) Wish me luck, I will need it!!
This was the room inspiration! Isn't it adorable?!!! PJ set from Target, I love these colors all together! I was totally set on doing Green(My favorite color) and Blue (Seth's favorite color) together in the room somehow, but then I saw this and knew this was much better! That is called growth people, cause if you know me - you know I LOVE GREEN!!! And it was hard to give it up!

This is my pattern and hopefully it will look somewhat like this when it is done! I'm going to use pieces of fabric and hand stitch them on to do the firetruck design in the center - is that called embroidering? Not quite sure... anyways I will also be adding in the little touches by needle point. Then the rest of the blanket will be done by machine because that will probably be just enough torture!!

These are the fabrics I chose and also the edging for the blanket and this awesome ribbon I found - it is actually light reflecting like the stuff on fire gear!! Sweet huh?! I took a picture with the flash below so you can see how neat it is, even though there probably isn't much need for it in a baby room! Just looks cool! It will be used to trim the center firetruck design on the front of the quilt and also for the ties on the crib bumper.

Girls Night: Karaoke Style...

Friday night I got together with some girlfriends for a fun karaoke girls night! We had a fabulous, crazy time! Got to get a lot these nights in before the baby comes, cause then it will be much harder for me to get out!! Las Palmas was the location, good mexican food and tons of crazy Lake Elsinore folk to entertain us, pretty hilarious!! A guy was actually videotaping everyone who sang... so weird! I guess he sells copies of, doesn't he need our written consent for that? :) We as a group sang Bootylicious, pretty funny and people seemed to enjoy our antics! I sang one of my standards "Black Velvet" and a new fave "What's Up" by 4 Non Blondes, that is a really fun one to sing!! Sarah did "Let er Rip" by the Dixie Chicks and Kati did "I'll Stand By You" - I don't who that is by! We were a hit! Really good times! Missed those of you who couldn't make it, but there will always be a next time!! Here are all our crazy pics...

Vanessa, Me, Fran and Sarah! That face I'm making is a tad scary..

Meagan, Kati and Emily!

Classic Kati photo, so hot!!!

Meagan, another awesome shot!

Vanessa and I being cheeseballs! I need to find some old hilarious pics of us from Vegas to share sometime! These remind me of those!
More cheese!

Sarah singing, she did an awesome job! This pic is so cute of her!

A Lake Elsinorite... Yep, HOT!!! :)

Our whole group "Big Mamas" (that's our alias for singing) the people in charge of the Karaoke thought that was hilarious! We were happy to make their night more enjoyable!! :)

5 Months Already?!

Wowza! Time just seems to be flying by! I feel like before we know it our little guy will be here and we will be wondering how it all happened! We are just trying to relish in every moment by taking time to enjoy the small things, or should I say the bigger things... as in my growing belly! It has definitely grown this last month, it is crazy how much it has popped out! I have really been enjoying this stage being able to feel him move more just helps me know that everything is okay! Seth has been trying to feel him move and whenever I feel movement I tell him so he can try and feel it too! Well as soon as Daddy puts his hand on my belly the movement tends to stop of course! He has felt it a few times this month, but he wasn't quite sure if he really did! Kinda frustrating! Well last night as we were lying in bed talking the little guy started moving and Seth was able to feel a really good one! It was so awesome! He was so quiet that I thought he hadn't felt it, I was thinking "Are your kidding me?!" But he finally said "Wow!" :) Such a special experience! I'm glad he was able to finally know that he felt it! He is definitely a lover of the baby and belly, he can't keep his hands off of it! I've been getting more of the tummy touches from others too and I have to say that it is fun to share, since now it is one big bump instead of 2 huge rolls! This is the tightest my tummy has ever been I think! LOL!

We recently had our 20 week checkup and we were glad to find out he is still a boy! No question about it! The ultrasound tech said he wasn't shy at all with showing us what he's got! I'm glad Seth was able to come in the room with me the whole time because I came very close to fainting, that has never happened to me before! I was laying straight back on the table for the ultrasound and it was just fine and then I started feeling nauseous! I tried to will it away but I finally told them that I think I'm going to throw up! The tech said oh no, sit up and got me a little bean shaped container... um what is that for? Oh.. my throw up? I don't think hospitals realize that those things probably aren't the best containers for that sort of thing!!! So I sat up looking for something bigger and instantly felt extremely woozy and could not see straight! I then started sweating profusely! It took about 5 minutes to feel normal again and I did the rest of the ultrasound on my sides! I was a little embarrassed, but she said that I wasn't the first and definitely won't be the last so don't worry about it! The rest of the appointment went well and it was amazing to see how big our baby is getting! His whole body doesn't fit on the screen anymore! Here are a few pics from that appt...

Isn't he adorable?! The foot pic just kills me!!! I can't wait to kiss this baby all over and snuggle him like crazy!!! :)

So here is my 5 month photo, this was on Sunday and I hadn't been to church in a couple weeks since we were out of town. I think everyone was surprised with how much I'm showing now! I am too and I love it!

Our Utah Trip!

We just got back from Utah and we had such a good time! We have been trying to take a trip there for awhile and it finally worked out for us! Seth was able to take a day off which gave us 6 days to make the trip happen! Way better than 4, especially since driving there and back pretty much wipes out 2 days! It was the perfect amount of time and we were able to see friends and family - they all live within 20 minutes of each other up there!! We stayed with my friend Brooke(who I grew up with) and her family, it was nice to have a central location to stay and not have to pack and unpack a ton! Thanks Greg and Brooke! They were so wonderful to us and we just fell in love with their little boys Luke and Nathan! We are so ready for our little boy now!!! We did some sightseeing at Thanksgiving Point, really cool place for family! Seth LOVED the Farm, a huge petting zoo there! The animals were so friendly and loved being pet and fed as much as Seth loved doing it! Luke and Seth had a great time there together! We ate at the ever popular Cafe Rio and now I see while everyone raves about it, so good! We went for a beautiful drive up to American Fork Canyon it had some snow up there and was so pretty! We had a fun dinner with my other childhood friend Kori and her family that night, it was nice to be all together with our families - we are so grown up now! :) We even watched the election results, a very adult thing to do! Gone are the days of off roading and toilet papering houses! That evening it started snowing really good, we were so excited to experience it and were amazed how fluffy it was! The next day we woke up and got the Prop 8 election results, it was too close the night before to know anything solid - we were so happy it passed, great way to start our spiritual day! We went to Salt Lake City to Temple Square and had such a great day there! We took a tour, checked out the Tabernacle, the Conference Center and Museums then went to the Temple for a live session, so awesome! Then we checked out the Joseph Smith Building and had dinner at The Roof there, so pretty and YUMMY!!!!! Our last full day there was Thursday and we went to Kori's home to hang out some more, the kids loved it of course and we enjoyed the gab time! Brooke then took us on a drive to Park City, such a beautiful drive! We hit the Outlet there and got some good deals! Then later that evening we got together with my cousins and met my cousin Lynsey and her hubby Chris' baby Kaia for the first time, she is beautiful!!! My cousin Gabe and his wife Jessica's little girl Malina is 1 now, she is such a little doll!! And Nick and his wife Mandi are due with their first(a boy too) in 6 weeks, it was fun comparing baby bumps!! So exciting started the whole next generation of family! It was great to be able to get together with them before we left! We had a great time and by the time we left to drive home the snow was all pretty much melted, couldn't have gone any better! A very successful trip, can't wait to go again!

Video of Luke sledding, he just took off without Seth! I was worried as you can tell from the video! And I had right to be cause after I went inside he went by himself again and went right into a tree! Had a good bump on his head from it! Poor little guy!
