Mitch the Man is 17 Month-a-roos!

This last month has been so fun with our little man! He gets funnier and SMARTER every day!! He seems to understand more and more what we are saying to him and tries to answer us/talk to us and most of the time it is just gibberish, but sometimes what he says back makes sense! It always surprises us and we're sure it's just a fluke, but it is so stinkin cute and fun! He is running everywhere now and still so excited about being able to get around on his own that he still has his hands straight out in front of him like a hyper frankenstein! At church a few weeks ago he was running back and forth in the back of the chapel squealing and laughing in pure excitement so loudly that I had to take him out! So hard cause he is just having fun, not throwing a fit or crying but still very much disrupting the whole meeting! He is a month away from being in nursery without mommy in tow!! We are so excited, ok maybe mommy is the only one that excited!! ;) But seriously, I'm so excited to be able to go to Relief Society Mitch free! Mommy loves you very much Mitch.. but really needs that time for her sanity! He is picking up things really fast now and can now get up on the couch and off all by himself! He plays hard to get when we go get him from his crib.. he will be standing and as soon as he sees us he lies down really fast or when we ask him to come he runs away.. until we say "OK BYE BYE" and start walking away. Then he freaks out and comes running! He points to things he wants now, which is so much nicer than trying to figure out on our own! When he toots or craps his pants now he looks down at his diaper and then at us like "ok people time to change me", so funny! He saw me coming with a diaper and wipes last night and actually laid down for his changing before I got there! LOVE it! He runs fast to hug us and anyone else he thinks needs one.. mostly strangers which is pretty funny and slightly frightening. Got teach him about stranger danger! We just started teaching him about time out, which means we stick him in the space between a chair and our sofa in the family room and say "time out"! And it is helping us to not lose it on him and hopefully him to learn to listen to us! We can only hope he gets it sooner than later! We had our last restaurant dining experience with him for awhile a week ago, he was RIDICULOUS and it just isn't worth it for us anymore! :( Just isn't fun to wrangle a toddler during an entire meal, not relaxing AT ALL!! So unless we get a baby-sitter it is at home or quick dining experiences for us! On a more fun note.. he is really starting to dance and it is so cute!! He also said "Daddy" really clearly the other day when Seth was here, he usually says "dada". It was so cute and Seth was so happy! He is getting bigger and bigger everyday! We just took him to the dr cause he has Roseola right now, he had a temp of 103.5 for 3 days and then it broke and a rash developed all over his body. Luckily he has been a trooper and was/is eating, sleeping and playing as usual since he came down with it. Since we were at the DR we were able to get his stats: He is 30 lbs still, but is now 34 inches! So he is still 95th% for his weight and went up to 97th%(from 95th%) for his height! Still a big kid, but slowly starting to thin out?? LOL! Slowly is the key word! A friends little girl asked me the other day if Mitch is big.. I told her "No honey, he's HUGE!" :) Love my huge baby! Here are the pics of him from this last month...
Being a beast!

Back to sweet!

:)

Our mini Drew Carey!

Getting ready to fight off Daddy! I love his defensive stance and somewhat worried look here!

Out on a lunch date with his girlfriend Madisyn! They were giggling and having so much fun together, he just adores her!

Both of them fell asleep on the drive back home, so cute!

Having fun with his fun Ikea felt food and cooking set! :)

I love him in just a diaper, so cute!

We thought this was so funny! He climbed up on the couch to watch tv all by himself, he realized is is much comfier I guess! LOL! It cracked us up!

Closer up! Such a raggamuffin here, the rash from the Roseola starting up on his face!

This video shows how he is learning how to move forward on his toys, before he would only go backwards!

Here he is dancing and being a weirdo and then I caught him rolling his eyes at me!! What the?! Already?

Pushing his firetruck around the kitchen like a bat outta hell! Sorry the video isn't the greatest, from my phone.

And this is him figuring out how to wave a little differently! I love how happy he gets when we encourage him and he realizes he has done something good or funny! ;)

Stayin Classy in San Diego

We wanted to get away for a couple days, so a few weekends ago we went to San Diego for a little family trip! We had the hardest time finding a hotel to stay at due to Comic Com, but luckily we found one very last minute and made it happen! Wasn't the best hotel ever, actually it was probably the worst we've ever stayed in! But hey we got to get away, so we aren't complaining.. too much!! ;) We had such a great time and can't wait to go back again just Seth and I! On the first day we went to Coronado and rented a Surrey(a side by side bike thing, pic below) and rode around the whole island of Coronado! We made great time, under 2 hours and that was with a stop for gelato (YUM!) at Nado Gelato! Was a great workout too(needed after the the gelato!)! After that we went to lunch at Miguels and then walked through Hotel Del Coronado and checked out the shops. Then we tried to give Mitch a nap back at our Motel Del "Crapo", but he wasn't into it. So Seth and I rested while Mitch ran around shrieking for 2 hours. Then we went to Little Italy and had dinner there and then went to Old Town for a little bit. YAY for the tortilla makers all around Old town, SO GOOD!! We had a great time and decided to go back the next day after we went to Point Loma in the morning and Gaslight District for lunch and some checking out of the Comic Con freaks! SO AWESOME, they were everywhere!!!! When we went back to Old Town we decided to check out the Mormon Battalion Historic Site and when we walked in the greeters said "Happy Pioneer Day!"! So funny cause we didn't even realize it was Pioneer Day and it was such a perfect place to visit on that day, highly recommend on any other day too! So neat! Mitch did so good there! Not so much at dinner later at Casa De Reyes though. Oh well, he was tired and we can't blame him for that! We had a really good time despite a few little "Mitch hiccups", but we loved having him along for a fun family get away and it will make our future "alone trip" that much better! ;) Here are a ton of pics for ya!

Lets do this!! At the start of our surrey ride around Coronado! So fun, next time we want to do the Segway tour!

Mitch enjoying the surrey ride with his huge head in a huge helmet! Like an orange on a toothpick! LOL!

Getting some yummy gelato!

Finishing up our surrey ride around Coronado, how cute are we? LOVE!

Letting Mitch stretch his legs, he was SO HAPPY as you can see!

Yep, this is happening! Comic Con freaks, LOVE IT!

2nd Annual White Water Rafting Trip!

I looked forward to this trip all year, ever since last year! So fun!!! We're lucky to have great friends/family who love to host these fun trips for our mutual friends! Thanks Josh and Vanessa for doing it again this year, we really appreciate it! We had some of the same couples from last yearand a few new ones too! Always a great way to get to know someone better! We had the pleasure of going down the river with the Brandon and Susie Chatham and Eric aand Jaime Aragon, with Josh guiding. We had so much fun and laughed pretty hard especially when Brandon was paddling so hard that he broke the paddle, HILARIOUS!! Also when Josh and Eric fell out in the middle of a rapid and we all just started laughing and then Brandon saw "Nature" coming and yelled "WILDERNESS!!!"!! So freakin funny! Although the rapids(we did 5 class rapids) can be a little scary at times being with good friends makes it so much more fun! We had a really great time and can't wait till next year! I pretty much plan our life around it!! ;) Here are some fun pics of the group..

Fun at the Beach!

We took Mitch to the beach to enjoy the sand and water for the first time over a month ago! We have taken him before, but he hadn't been old enough to actually play there! We met up with our friends the Andersons down at Redondo Beach and we had a really nice time watching the boys play(the little and big boys) and then we went out to dinner to Cafe Rio! YUM!! Always a good way to end a fun playdate with our friends! ;) It took me awhile to get these pics off my phone! I was sad cause I forgot our camera, but these pics from my phone turned out good luckily...

Loving playing in the sand!

Getting his feet wet!

He wasn't too sure about the waves!

Jalen and his daddy

Found some new toys

Playing some more in the sand

Daddy buried him in the sand, not sure if he likes it? It's that or he is realizing sand doesn't taste good!

Everyone getting in on burying Joe in the sand!

Daddy giving Mitch a ride on the boogie board!

Jalen wanted some fun rides too! So cute!!

As these two grow older it is so fun watching them interact more and more when we get together!

Mitch has the best Daddy!

Fathers Day was 2 months ago now.. but I forgot to post about it and the cute pics I got that day of my son and his wonderful Father! Seth is the BEST DAD! Just seeing Seth with Mitch makes me so happy, they are best buds! I love hearing Mitch say Dada when asking for him when he is at work and screaming/squeeling DADA when he comes home! He loves his Daddy so much! Seth does such a good job parenting him and I'm so blessed to have a husband who steps up so much to be an equal partner in parenting! Happy (Late) Fathers Day to such an awesome Dad!! We spent the day with just our little family relaxing and it was so nice! In the afternoon we went to fly a kite at a park and it was a lot of fun, here are the pics from that..

So Daddy got Mitch dressed, I told you he is a hands on dad.. sure maybe a color blind one, but still hands on! ;)

Flying the Brobee Kite! :)

Proud Daddy loving his time with Mitch

I LOVE this pic, so cute!
