Mitch and Eating

This is Mitch(notice his very first self inflicted boo boo in his face, I'm sure it is the first of many) and his sippy cup of milk, notice how it is dripping off of his chin! ;)

So a couple days ago I started to ween Mitch, he is doing good so far.. I have stopped nursing him during the day. Only when he goes to bed at night and wakes up in the morning, I will be cutting those in the next few days too. I'm kinda sad about it to be honest. He is a great nurser and I had no issues whatsoever when he was born, he knew just what to do! The lactation nurse thought we had a few kids already cause we had it down, he was a born pro... or EATER! LOL! But we have some plans coming up and I need to do a treatment on my skin that I can't be nursing him while I do it.. so it is time. Also he was starting to get out of hand with pulling at my shirt and pointing and slapping at them when he thought he should be fed! Slightly embarassing! I'm just going to miss this special time between him and I, cuddling and snuggling and it just makes me realise how fast he is growing up! :( He has been eating food(an array of baby food and table food) 3 times a day and does water in a sippy cup for a few months now. I don't want him to become attached to a bottle so we started doing milk in a sippy cup, it took him a couple day to warm up to and he is still working on it. I had been nursing him down to nap times, so now I just go lie him down with a sippy cup of milk.. he really just ignores it and cries a little and then falls asleep. I don't think I will do that anymore tho.. cause I don't want to create the habit of falling asleep with the sippy of milk, just thought it would help him initially. After his nap he is more willing to drink it too, so I will try to stick with that! Also he has started to become really picky about what he eats!! ARGH!! He was SO GOOD before and would eat ANYTHING!!! Now he will examine it and try and then stick his tongue out so it falls out of his mouth if he doesn't like it.. I have video of this below. He loved hot dogs the first few times I fed to him and today he wanted nothing to do with them?!! Ok buddy.. I have 2 packages of chicken hot dogs and you better start liking again!! Oh well, I guess he is just starting to be normal. So that is where he is at now, hopefully the weening continues to go well!

Bills Cruise 2010!!

The title of this post is in hopes that there will be a Bills Cruise 2011! ;) I can hope! We had such a fun time!!! We left right when it starting raining and got back when it was finishing up! So awesome and because it was raining Carnival sent us to Cabo(where it was nice and sunny) instead of Catalina and Ensenada! Such Luck! We even got an extra meal because of it! ;) My parents took our whole family, all five siblings, spouses, grandkids and our grandparents.. in total 18 people! It was such a great way to do a family trip! Each family had their own cabin and we would hang out here and there throughout the day and do your own thing if you wanted to and then we had dinner all together each night, which of course was FABULOUS!!! So fun to have free reign of want you want to eat without having to pay AND if you don't like it it's no big deal!! There is something else to order! I could go on and on about the food, which is probably why I put on 4 pounds! It was worth it tho! Another great thing was that they had Karoake every night!! My favorite! It was so fun! We sang every night and my bro Tyler and I sang Endless Love(we hammed it up so it wasn't so creepy that siblings were singing this together! LOL!) at the Karaoke Competition and by the last night people were stopping us all over the boat telling us how much they enjoyed our singing(especially the older crowd).. that must be what celebrities feel like! ;) It was nice! They have competitions all throughout the trip and they award you with medals and 24k plastic ships on a stick! They range from ping pong, bean bag toss, trivia games etc! We took those competitions by storm and I think every single one of us left with an award of some sort! Tyler had 10 medals I think! Love it! So I guess you can say we had a good time! Thanks Mom and Dad for such a FANTASTICAL TIME and I cannot wait for next year(hint, hint), :) LOVE YOU GUYS!! Check out our favorite pics and the slideshow with the rest...

Mitch's Adorable 10 Month Photos

Our Baby is 10 months Old!

Our baby boy Mitch is 10 months old today!! He has become quite a little cuddly lover this last month, he likes to cuddle into us when going to sleep and when waking up and we LOVE it!!! My favorite thing with him! He now regularly does this shy thing when people greet him, he will turn his head into whatever is around.. me, tables, toys, etc. My mom came over last week and he did this to her and then 5 minutes later she gave up and got up to walk away and he LOST IT!! LOL! He just takes a little time to warm up to people now! He loves food, the dogs and baths(in that order) and will cry if he sees or hears it and does not get to have it pronto! He is pulling himself up onto things like crazy now and actually scared me today while doing so in a high chair! Got to watch him more carefully now! He has been eating a lot more table food now.. spaghetti, mac and cheese, corn, peas, hot dogs(loved it), pears, peaches, oranges, bread, goldfish, green beans.. there is more but I cannot think of right now. He doesn't enjoy 2nd day mac and cheese, beans of any kind and totally turns his nose up to gerber puffs now! He has seen the light.. or tasted the flavor of REAL FOOD and cares no more for those! I tried to give to him this morning to hold him off a couple minutes for breakfast and he threw every one of them on the floor! You try to put in his mouth and he sticks his tongue out till it falls out! He LOVES teething bisquits tho and I DO NOT LOVE the mess they make! So gross! I'm surprised that he still loves his pureed baby food and we still feed him at least 1 at each meal and try to incorporate a table food with it! It's been a lot of messy fun doing so! We have really been enjoying sitting down to eat meals together as a family! He has just cut another tooth, next to the one he got in November and it looks like the top 2 will be coming in at the same time! That should be fun! :) He has actually been pretty good with teething lately, just a tad fussy and a low temp at night luckily for us! I took him to JC Penney to get his 10 month pics done today and they turned out SO GOOD!! He was in such a good mood and every pic was adorable, I cannot wait to share them!!! They actually asked me to sign a waiver so they can maybe use! So keep a look out for our little cutie, his pic just might show up somewhere! He is loving all of his toys he got for Christmas and it is so cute to watch him play with them, they keep him busy for awhile! This next month I will be weening him, starting him on whole milk in a sippy and getting a new car seat and turning it around. A little early, but he needs it and is big enough so we are gonna do it.. don't judge us!! He has been hating car rides and I think it will really help him to have those changes! I still want him to stop growing up so fast, it makes me sad.. but it is fun to see all the new things he does everyday. I love him to pieces and I'm so glad he is mine!!

Change is good..

So this last week has brought some changes for our family! We have welcomed a new canine family member.. the sweet Roxy! She is a 4 1/2 year old Boxer and is very mellow and well trained! She comes from a loving family who moves a lot, because of a career with the military and wanted her to have a good home. I'm glad we are able to give to her and that it is working! I wasn't quite sure it would, but I wanted Harley(our other dog) to have a companion to keep her happy.. and we weren't at all prepared to get another puppy we would have to train! Especially since Harley isn't as trained as we would like her to be! So when I saw that Roxy needed a home(thanks for the heads up Melissa), I had a feeling it would be a good fit! Especially since Seth loves Boxers and that is why I originally got Harley for him, she was the closest thing to a Boxer we could afford.. a FREE mutt that had the same kinda look! ;) Anyways, Roxy is doing well fitting in and is also helping Harley calm down quite a bit!! Harley was still getting way too over excited, jumping and a little too rough with Mitch. Well Roxy dominated her immediately and is showing her how to act(the family she came from had small kids) and it is awesome!!! It has only been a couple days and we are impressed! Thanks to the Rogers for letting us have her, we will take good care of her! Feel free to come for a visit anytime!

Also on the list of changes is my new calling as Compassionate Service Leader at church! I felt kind of elated when I was first called... probably because I was just hoping I wasn't getting called into Nursery! LOL! But after praying and actually being sustained and set apart I feel... like this is something I really need. Everyone has been telling me how good I will be at this calling and while I hope I will, I know it is something I will need to work on! I just know that COMPASSION is something I need to gain, I'm not saying I don't have ANY. I probably have a lot actually in most situations, but there are just some situations I struggle with to have any AT ALL. And I know Heavenly Father wants me to grow and be a better person, so that I will!! I also have to be better about shutting my mouth now too! ;) So I'm excited for some personal growth and the opportunity to serve others when they need it most! Pray for me!

Mitch has been taking baths in his own tub since after Christmas now and is loving it!! Before we would hop in with him in our tub!! That was getting old and since he is such a big boy now we made the switch! We should have done it months ago! Because he LOVES LOVES LOVES it! He likes being able to splash and roll around in the water and pull himself up on the side of the tub. It's cute when we get the water started and are waiting to put him in he gets so excited and pulls himself up the side to look in! Our little water boy! Here are some cute pics...

AND today Mitch had his 1st haircut!! More like a minor trim, clean up of the neckline and the stray fuzz! He did a good job, the snacks of Pirate Booty helped! Katie(our hair stylist) even gave him a little fohawk and it is so freakin adorable!!! Check it out..

Happy Birthday to my Baby Daddy!

Today is Seth's 32nd Birthday! I can't believe it, it sounds so old to me and I'm right behind him turning 31 next month!! Although it is easier to believe when we are both complaining of sore joints! ;) This man is the the best husband and father a family could ask for and Mitch and I are so blessed to have him in our lives! We surprised him today at work with dinner and cupcakes and he had no idea we were coming, thanks to his buddies at work(especially since I got there late due to traffic and forgetting something at home!) It was fun to surprise him and be able to spend some extra time together! He had a lot of fun showing Mitch the Engine and his gear, so freakin cute!! Check out the adorable pics...
