Sailing to Catalina!

Our friends Brandon and Susie hosted a weekend getaway to Catalina Island last weekend for us and 2 other couples and it was amazing!! Brandon has been sailing his whole life, so we were able to sail over with him as our captain! We all secured baby-sitters for our children and were off for a 4 day weekend of relaxing, playing and sleeping in! It was fabulous!! We had a great time on the way over anticipating all the fun we were about to have!! We were able to stay at Brandon's family's home on the island and were able to have most our meals there, which was really great and made the weekend way affordable! We got there in the evening and then got settled and had a yummy spaghetti dinner, we grubbed on that! The next day we had an amzing breakfast at a local spot and then did some more sailing around the island! Stopping so the guys could do a little unsuccessful spear fishing and the girls could take a quick dip in the cold water! Both activities being equally hilarious! After that we went back to get ready for the evening, had our grilled steak dinner and then hit the town! We got some ice cream, sang some karaoke with Scooter and danced at the Chi Chi club! Seriously good times! After all that we got some games in back at the house. The next day we slept in so good, had breakfast there and then went and did some snorkeling at Lovers Cove. We took some frozen peas to attract the fish and attract them it did! So funny watching the fish swarm people when you throw peas in their direction! ;) After that we went over to the beach club to relax, watch the zip liners and sip our virgin frozen daquiris! After that Seth and I took a spin in the golf cart to check out the island a little, neat to see the whole zip line operation! Then we went back to the house and got ready for another night out on the town! We went to dinner at a really nice steakhouse, so good!! Then we did some more karaoke and ice cream and then headed back for more games to finish up our last night! The next day we packed and cleaned everything up and then spent the afternoon sailing home, with little to no incident.. until the rudder broke from the wheel of the boat! Poor Seth was doing the sailing at this point and we all freaked out a little.. except Brandon who took care of it within 15 min and then we were on our way again! Glad he knew what he was doing! We had such a great time and created so many fun memories on this trip! Thanks so much Brandon and Susie for taking us and making it such a fun trip!
