So I was going to stop doing these monthly updates on Mitch at a year old, but I decided to keep going. Sorry if it is annoying, but you don't have to read it!!! ;) I just want to remember all this stuff about him and I can't believe how much he is changing, especially this last month!! PLUS I would love advice and tips if you are so inclined to give!! Cause we are now raising one very head strong temper tantrum throwing little boy!!! We cannot believe how crazy he gets when he doesn't get his way or is told no or taken away from something!! I have been researching baby tantrums and what to do and there is a lot of conflicting advice out there.. at the moment we just try and distract him with something else.. that only works about 50% of the time though. The other 50% involves a TON of screaming, crying, arm throwing, full body convulsing, head banging ridiculous fun!!! He would be a hit at a mosh pit! Our sweet baby boy is a full on Jekyl and Hyde now. He is so loud that it is extremely embarrassing in public and at home I feel like the neighbors must be thinking we beat him!! It sounds AWFUL!! So the conflicting info I've found says to ignore and walk away or hold on lap until tantrum is over. What have you done??? Or have you done something different? We want to tackle the problem now and be consistent so it doesn't get worse! So that has been a major change in him, we didn't think we would be dealing with that so soon.. he was so well behaved his first year. I think it might have something to do with naps, he just dropped his 2nd nap and is doing one big one instead of 2 smaller. He is a great napper luckily if he is home, but if not he will not sleep and the rage becomes even better!! We realise that is why in those situations though. He is crawling normally all of the sudden!!! On Easter he just got up on his hands and knees and went for it!! We were in shock because he had been army crawling for so long and we just figured he wouldn't crawl normally and go straight to walking!! It is nice that he is though because we let him down to play more! We are SO READY for him to walk!! He is SO HEAVY and is just so excited to play when he sees other kids, I know he wants to run around with them so bad!! He constantly wants us to hold his hands to walk him around!! I think he will be walking on his own in the next couple weeks. He has 6 teeth now, 2 on the bottom and 4 up top! He is pretty much done with baby food, loves pasta, yogurt, cereal, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, apple sauce, fruit etc. He is trying something new all the time! He LOVES LOVES LOVES books!! We find him flipping through them constantly in his play area, so cute!! Makes us so happy!! He has started to really like movies and is a big fan of the Toy Story movies! We are excited to take him to go see Toy Story 3 in June! He is waving, clapping, high fiving and kissing like crazy now! He did most of that before this last month, but he has bumped it up a notch and it is so cute! Makes up for his not so cute tantrum moments! He is jibber jabbering a lot more and does it like we are supposed to know what he is saying!! I think I've heard him say "Gabba Gabba" when watching Yo Gabba Gabba and I swear he has started to say "Yeah" in response to us when asking him questions. I know that "NO" is coming soon and I am not looking forward to it. He makes us very happy and very frustrated at different moments, but that is being a parent and we wouldn't have it any other way.. well maybe a little less frustrating. ;) Here are the pics and a couple videos from this last month..

The elephants were out playing around! See the 6 week old one in the middle?! SO CUTE!! They actually had a baby elephant born the night before, but it wasn't out yet. Cannot wait to see it!!
