Mitch's 1st tooth and 9 month appt

I have A LOT to catch up on for this month in posting and I will be doing it this week!! I like to do in order of the events happening, so it will end with our Christmas festivities.. eventually!!

I wanted to start with this, I know I already mentioned this in his 9 month post but I wanted to document with a pic of it as well! It took all these pics....

(SO MUCH DRAMA!)to FINALLY get a good photo of his little pearly white here...
So cute!!

This is an even beter shot taken Christmas day..:) Love this one!!

So he has one cute little tooth that he loves to flash people with a scrunched up nose smile, we LOVE it!!! He was doing really well not biting me until Christmas Eve... when he did it TWICE!! :( But I let him know that was NOT OKAY and he hasn't done again YET! At his 9 month dr appt he weighed 22.15 lbs(he lost a pound from his last weigh in), his height is 29 inches and head circumference is 18.75 inches. Making his percentiles: 75th for both weight and length and 95th for his head! :) Our big headed boy, just like mama! Which makes it hard to get around? The dr asked us if he was lifting himself up and walking/holding onto furniture and we said nope. She asked in his crib? NOPE. Is he crawling? Ummm, he is army crawling... at that point she look worried and I started getting nervous and blurted out that he says Mama! LOL!! I don't know why, but her bedside manner always freaks me out! She than assured us it is fine, but we should start showing and helping him how to pull himself up. Not exactly what I want him to be doing(to be honest), but I guess we can help him. I just don't want him running around anytime soon, it makes me sad that he is growing so fast!! So we have been working with him and the last couple days he has been doing it all by himself! Only took him 10 days to master it! :( He has also mastered being a total Momma's boy and only wanting me if I am in the room.. YAY!!!(that was a sarcastic yay.) About 25% of me loves that he wants me so much and then the other 75% of me(mainly my sore arms) gets a little tired of it. I kinda want to see if he would go to Santa now, cause I don't think he would because he has been so weird about going to others now!! Oh well, at least we got some cute pics before he hit that stage! ;) He is on the go so much more now and I really think he will go from army crawling to walking and skipping the whole "regular crawling" thing, like he is too good for that or something? LOL!! Time will tell! We love this little, big headed, 1 toothed boy!

Knott's Berry Farm!

Every year we get to go to Knott's Berry Farm in December for their "Hero's Deal", FireFighters and Police get themselves and one other person for free and 6 other people in for $15, goes until Dec 20th! This year my brother Tyler and his girlfriend Lindsay came with us and we had a lot of fun and went on A LOT of rides!! It was a perfect day because it was EMPTY! It had rained like crazy the day before, so I think people were thinking it was going to be that day too.. luckily I'm on top of the weather reports and knew it would be perfect! I wasn't able to do the rides last year because I was prego, so it was nice to enjoy all the rides AND Funnel Cake - instead of just Funnel cake! LOL!! I realized there that if things go the way I would like them to, I will only be able to enjoy the rides every other year for the next few years! So I took full advantage and had a great time! Here are the fun pics...
Mitch and the Eric Cartman Southpark doll Uncle Tyler won for him!! He loves it!

Our Mitchellin Man is 9 months!!

I know I say this every month, but seriously he is growing TOO FAST!! I'm starting to get really sad because it is going by way too quickly!! He is HUGE and most people think he is a 1 year old, he is bigger than most 1 year olds! He has finally cut his first tooth the day after Thanksgiving, guess he was really excited about the food we let him eat that day! I thought he had an ear infection cause he was going at his ears like crazy, so I took him to the Doctor the day after Thanksgiving. The Doctor showed me that he had just cut a tooth, I felt pretty lame! Oh well, better safe than sorry! At the visit he was 23.5 lbs, and almost 29 inches!! He's a BIGGIE! He is now doing more solids like noodles, fruit and veggies and he is LOVING it!! He still has an aversion to bottles though, I even tried to give him some warm chocolate milk in one and he wanted nothing to do with it! So weird! Luckily he does do a sippy cup and he is still nursing, trying to continue that until he is one and so far so good. He has become clingy, especially at home.. if one of us walks away or puts him down he loses it most of the time! Luckily in public it isn't the same story, he will still go to practically anyone and loves to be social and flirt especially with the ladies! But when it is just me and him, he pulls out the dramatics!! So funny! When he is excited or hungry he does this really cute hand rolly thing, check out the video at the end of this post to see what I am talking about! He is still army crawling around like crazy, his arms are super lean and his legs are ridiculously rolly!! Hence our nick name for him "Mitchellin Man"! He is a very happy and curious boy and loves to watch and pet any animal, child or adult!! In church today he sat so reverently in the middle of the aisle watching the teacher in Relief Society, a nice change from the fussy at church stage he was in last month!! It's fun to watch him explore and see what he will do next! I could go on and on about how much we love him, but that is evident... so on to the cute pics!!
This thing kept them busy for awhile!

Whoa Ember, watch out! Looks like he is trying to undress her, but he really just wants that binky attacher thingy! ;)

So excited for Baby Barrajas to arrive to play with him!

Getting ready for Christmas!

We've been getting ready for Christmas around here and I thought it would have been harder with Mitch. I actually was leaning towards not decorating, but Seth convinced me we had to and it was actually easier than previous years! Seth and I have got the teamwork down! It's nice to know what we need to do(being our 4th year of decorating this house)and how to get it done!! The outside lights got put up like clockwork this year without any of the usual squabbles and Seth assisted with the inside decorations, which I usually do alone! It feels a lot like Christmas around here now and now all we need is the smell! We are going to go get our tree today, in the rain(that should be an adventure)! We are loving the holidays with Mitch, it is so new and exciting now and we love to watch him take it all in! We went to our Stake Creche Festival to see all the beautiful and fun nativities(including the "PEZtivity", the nativity made out of Pez toys! Loved it and wish I would have gotten a pic!). We took him to the Mission Inn(our first time as well) to see all the lights and it was so fun to see him amazed by the lights!! Here are some pics..
My handsome man getting the outside lights done!

Seth and Mitch enjoying the finished product

At our Stake Creche Festival, isn't this awesome?! They had a fun Manger photo booth, Mitch made quited the hefty baby Jesus! poor Mary if she had to push a Jesus his size out! :)

They also had a set up with manger style animals, this donkey was so sweet! She was so soft and friendly, I totally want a donkey now!!

Mitch does too! He was probably thinking this dog is HUGE! ;)

This is the result of a little photo shoot I did of Mitch, pretty darn cute huh? He got this cute outfit from Grandma Andres last year!

And this is him glad it was over! LOL!

Just arrived at the Mission Inn, this is the only pic with him looking at the camera, as you will see that in the next couple he was distracted with the lights!

Family photo

What is that?!

And this is Mitch this morning! Decided to bust out his warm hat and mittens since it is freezing in my ice palace! ;)

Hope you are enjoying the festivities as much as we are!!
